Zeliang seeks tripartite ceasefire with NSCN-K

DIMAPUR, Sept 25 - Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang has urged upon a delegation from Myanmar during the recently concluded NE Connectivity Summit in Kohima to seriously work together in bringing about a ceasefire between NSCN-K, Government of India and Myanmar so that there is permanent peace and development in the two countries, a CMO press release said.

�Let us convert sanctuary of insurgents into commercial hub through peace initiative and development process. You take initiative in your country Myanmar and we will take initiative in our country,� Zeliang said.

The Chief Minister told this to the Myanmarese delegation led by U Sai Kyaw Zaw, Minister of Ethnic Affairs Mandalay Region.

The CMO release also informed that the Myanmarese delegation and the Chief Minister discussed varied issues including border trade, air, rail and road connectivity, political and cultural exchange programmes and promotion of tourism and building people-to-people-contact.

Sai Kyaw Zaw invited Zeliang to attend the upcoming cultural festival of Myanmar beginning October 24. Zaw also informed that there would be a cultural and business event from October 21 to October 24, where four North- eastern Indian States � Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh and four States of Myanmar would be participating.

Zeliang also invited the delegates to visit Nagaland during the Hornbill Festival. He further suggested to them to contribute suggestion and support to �Nagaland Vision Document 2030� which envisions the desired developmental directions and goals of Nagaland in various sectors.
