Zeliang seeks spl Assembly session

DIMAPUR, Jan 10 � In the backdrop of the on-going political stand-off within the ruling NPF, Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang has requested Governor PB Acharya to summon a special session of the Nagaland Assembly so that he may move a motion of confidence.

CMO sources said Zeliang along with NPF president Dr Sh�rhozelie and secretary general KG Kenye met the Governor at Raj Bhavan in Kohima last night. The Chief Minister said a situation has been created by the NPF dissident group raising a great deal of confusion by asking him to step down without any trial of strength in the Assembly.

�I am confident that I enjoy the support of the majority in the House. I therefore wish a vote of confidence in the Assembly,� Zeliang told the Governor. However, sources said the Governor is yet to respond to the request of the CM. At the same time, the Governor is also yet to accept the claim of dissident leader G Kaito Aye to allow him to form the next government.

Raj Bhavan sources said the Governor is holding a series of discussions with constitutional experts and also dwelt on details about the issue with State�s Advocate General KN Balgopal here today.

PTI adds: The ruling Naga People�s Front (NPF) today suspended two more of its legislators, including a Cabinet Minister of the dissident group led by G Kaito Aye.

NPF president Shurhozelie Liezietsu during a press conference here this evening announced that PHE Minister Noke Wangnao and MLA Imkong L Imchen have been suspended from the party for anti-party activities.
