NAGAON, May 24 - In an effort to skip quarantine, some youths coming to Nagaon from Chennai, Kerala and other parts of the country by train today fled after pulling the emergency chain near Raha.
This incident has drawn public resentment in the district for fear of spreading the virus as many people coming from Chennai, Kerala and other parts of the country have till date been found to be infected with COVID-19.
Sources said that some passengers after leaving Chaparmukh Railway Station drew the chain of the train this morning and subsequently disappeared into the crop fields nearby.
In due course, Nagaon Police led by DSP (Hq) Manash Saikia rushed to the spot and launched a massive search operation. However, no one could be traced out till the time of filing this report.
