GUWAHATI, March 15 - A youth from Amsoi area of Nagoan district, who was admitted to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Saturday, was tested negative for the coronavirus.
GMCH superintendent Dr Ramen Talukdar said that after carrying out all necessary tests, he was discharged from the hospital on Sunday. Yesterday, some people of Amsoi admitted him to the hospital, suspecting that he was infected by the virus.
He had returned home from Kerala recently.
Talukdar further said that the GMCH has taken all necessary measures to tackle the coronavirus threat. Till today, 29 samples were tested for coronavirus in the hospital, including few from Meghalaya and Manipur, but so far no positive case has been detected.
