JORHAT, April 29 � Four persons of the same family were hacked to death by one Ranjit Bora (23) of Sakuparagaon of Chikari Ghat area under Garmur Police Station around 11 pm yesterday.
Ranjit stabbed his two sisters Rekha Bora Baruah (18) and Junmoni Bora (16), his mother Bhon Bora (45) and his cousin Mukut Bora (27) to death and later committed suicide by hanging from a tree near his residence.
Rekha Bora Baruah and Mukut Bora died on the spot, while Bhon Bora and Junmoni Bora succumbed to their injuries on the way to the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital.
Rekha Bora Baruah was married to one Nitul Baruah of the same village one and a half years ago. But after a domestic quarrel, she came back to her parental home some 10 days back.
