JALUKBARI, March 25 - A 22-year-old youth identified as Ashim Sarkar, drowned in the Brahmaputra near Pandu port this afternoon.
According to Jalukbari police, Ashim, along with his friends Surja Malakar (22) and Vishal Das (22) had gone to Pandu port and later jumped into the river for a dip and is missing since then. He was a resident of Tranquil Colony, Pandu.
Police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) divers were engaged to recover the body, which was yet to be traced till filing of this report.
