Youth conclave organised in city

GUWAHATI, Dec 21 - The Guwahati chapter of Young Indians, the youth wing of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organised its first Yi Youth Conclave 2020 here on Saturday. The event was organised in association with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Shillong.

Chief Secretary Jishnu Barua, Elementary and Secondary Education Department Principal Secretary B Kalyan Chakravarty and others participated in the event.

�Young Indians has over the years worked across several platforms with a wide range of individuals and groups. Our endeavour has always been to uplift and encourage the youths and to make them realise how age does not matter to bring about change but it is their energy and passion that will keep us all going,� said Hamad Berlashker, chair of the Guwahati chapter.

The event hosted a series of sessions in which industry experts spoke on topics like the National Education Policy, filmmaking and psychology.

Amrit Deorah, event chair of the conclave, said, �It is a platform for the youths to converge, lead, co-create and influence India�s future bringing together all stakeholders including state government, Central government, PSUs, corporate, local enterprises and start-ups, among others.�

An online session was conducted by Associate Professor of IIM Shillong, Sanjoy Mukherjee, on �Turbulence to Excellence: Inspirational Insights from Ancient Indian Wisdom�.

The annual report book of Yi Guwahati Chapter and the newsletter Kopou were also unveiled at the event.

A session by an independent filmmaker based in Shillong, Wanphrang K Diengdoh, on the topic �opportunities in filmmaking � traditional and contemporary� was also held during the convention.
