Youth conclave held at Nagaon

NAGAON, Jan 26 - �The future of our country depends on youth and they have to shape it.� This was observed by the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Sarbananda Sonowal while addressing a youth conclave organized by the Nehru Yuva Kendra. He called upon the youth to make India a topper in the world in all sectors.

Sonowal said that to reach the top of the ladder, our youth should be self confident and hard working.

The minister laid stress on keeping the environment of educational institutions clean and asked them respect their teachers. Guwahati and Shillong would be made attractive destinations for tourists, he added.

Earlier, he paid tributes to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and recalled his contributions for the country. Nagaon MP Rajen Gohain, Director General of NYKS, Major General Dilawar Singh were among others who were also present in the conclave.

Students of Nagaon, Morigaon and Karbi Anglong took part in the youth conclave organized by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Nagaon. The conclave was formally declared opened by the Nagaon MP.

Two lectures on �The role of youth in nation-building with special reference on skill development� and �Youth of Assam � challenges and response� were delivered by Dr Deben Ch Das of Kashi Hindu Viswavidyalaya and Dr Surajit Bhagawati, Associate Professor, Nowgong College, respectively.
