JORHAT, April 21: Amrit Saikia, a youth of Malowkhat Mukhtiar Chuk village under Pulibor Police Station here, has been arrested by police on charges of attacking an elderly person of the village on April 17.
A police source stated that Saikia was produced before a judicial court which sent him to judicial custody.
He has been accused of hitting Biren Bora with a machete near the victim's house when Bora was reportedly returning home on Wednesday night.
