AGARTALA, June 16 - Anupam Paul, the prime accused in a case pertaining to defamation of Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Debs family through social media, has been sent to three-day police remand after being produced before a local court here on Sunday.

Anupam was arrested by Crime branch of State police from Delhi on June 12 in connection with the case and was brought to Agartala on transit remand.

On Sunday, he was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), West Tripura by police seeking a five-day remand for interrogation. After hearing the case, the court granted three-day police remand.
