GOALPARA, April 2 - A yoga teacher has been arrested for allegedly trying to rape a girl student inside the Goalpara Science Academy campus, police said today.
The yoga teacher � identified as Humaun Kabir � allegedly tried to rape the girl student yesterday afternoon. The matter came to light when the girl narrated the incident to her mother who informed the police. A case was registered at Goalpara Sadar police station under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Police took into custody Humaun Kabir, school principal Khanin Das, as well as the school director Nazmul Haque for allegedly hushing up the case.
The Goalpara Science Academy recently grabbed the headlines after its affiliation was cancelled by the AHSEC following the leak of question papers.
