GUWAHATI, June 19 - In connection with celebration of the Second International Day of Yoga, a yoga rally was organised centrally in the city today by the Indian Yoga Culture and Yoga Therapy Centre.
The rally was flagged off by Dr M Angamuthu, Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro, from the Nehru Stadium.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Angamuthu expressed happiness about the huge participation by various sections of society in the rally and the growing acceptance of yoga among the people of the city. Representatives and students from different yoga institutions of Assam took part in the rally, besides around 1,600 paramilitary personnel of SSB. The rally started from the Nehru Stadium at 7 am and covered Guwahati Club, Ambari and Chenikuthi, before returning to the stadium.
