GUWAHATI, May 3 � A centre for yoga and naturopathy named Sandipanee, was inaugurated at Namghar Path, Rukmini Nagar here today, a press release stated.

After chanting of �Om� and �Mangalasaran�, the founder of Sandipanee, Ajit Baruah welcomed the gathering in his inaugural speech. The event, which was presided over by Dr Purnananda Das, was inaugurated by nonagenarian social worker Mathur Prasad Bezbaroah.

The beneficial effects of nature therapy and yoga were emphasised and explained at the meeting by Dr Bolin Hazarika, a pioneer in naturopathy. He stated the causes of ailments pestering people in today�s world and suggested their remedies.

Yoga, pranayam, meditation, steam bath, hydro therapy, mud therapy, massage, magnet therapy, rope therapy, accupressure, underwater massage etc., are some of the natural remedies which can give relief to people suffering from different ailments and lifestyle diseases.

The facilities available at Sandipanee are Jaccuzi underwater massage, hip bath, sauna bath, physiotherapy, yoga therapy, sirodhara and massage therapy to cure diseases and ailments like neurological problems, orthopaedics, diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, heart problems, gynaecological problems, abdominal pain, liver problems, obesity, etc.

Sandipanee aims to serve people without any commercial motive, the release added.
