AIZAWL, June 15 - The largest civil organisation in Mizoram, Young Mizo Association (YMA) today celebrated its 81st Raising Day all over the State marking it as a day for community and philanthropic service.

YMA branches across the State organised their own programmes like cleaning villages and streets, constructing poor people�s houses and distributing money to poor people and patients in the hospitals. Hundreds of youths also donated blood today.

The Raising Day was declared a holiday by the State Government and this year it is observed as �dry day�.

The association has 806 branches, covering Mizoram and some parts of Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura with a total membership of about 4,04,535.
