IMPHAL, March 9 � Yaoshang, the biggest festival of Manipur concluded today amidst merryment and sports activities. The usually busy Imphal town wore a deserted look for the continuous fifth day today as government offices and private establishments remained closed.
Youngsters armed with water guns and balloons filled with coloured water sprayed each other, passerbys and elders. The festival was also observed at the Shree Shree Gobindajee Temple. In the night, young people performed Thabal Chongba, a Manipuri folk dance in the localities. Sports meets have become an inseparable part of the Yaoshang festival. There is hardly any village or locality where Yaoshang festival is observed without any sporting event.
