�Xomidhan� launched

GUWAHATI, March 2 � Successful professionals from the State whose career interests have dispersed them across the globe have come forward to share their experience and expertise with the young aspirants of the region and thus contribute their share towards the development of the state.

These professionals have joined hands and heads to launch �Xomidhan�, a website that is helping the young people to realize their goal. No matter where they are the need to �give back� to Assam surfaces every now and then in the hearts of the expatriates and they have listened to their hearts calling.

�We wanted to apply our knowledge and expertise, in a concerted way, to the various sectors that impact the development of that region,� said Buljit Buragohain, one of members of the group.

Buljit said that the primary objective of the group is to contribute to the development of Assam by targeting the students.

Right now the group is focusing in helping and guiding the students of Assam in career selection and counseling, student mentoring, providing latest news and articles related to career.

The group has a�panel of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) enrolled with them. Among them there are professionals working in prestigious organizations, entrepreneurs successfully managing their establishments and academicians doing outstanding research at Universities and Institutes located all over the world.

These groups of people come from diverse backgrounds - engineering and science, design, economics, public relations, medical and multidisciplinary streams.

Prize distribution ceremony

GUWAHATI, March 2 � Nilachal Jatiya Vidyalaya of Kamakhya, Nursery here organised its annual prize distribution ceremony as well as cultural programme titled �Geet Mator Gadhuli� recently, a press release said.

A meeting held on the occasion was presided over by the president of the organising committee, Bhupendra Kumar Sharma. The health director of Guwahati Refinery Bhupendra Prasad Sharma was present as chief guest while the guest of honour were Dr Anjana Sharma and Anil Kumar Chaudhury, educationist and teacher of Railway Higher Secondary School. Chaudhury also inaugurated the second edition of the school magazine Nirmali.

During the second part of the programme, reputed singer Tarali Sharma inaugurated the cultural programme dubbed �Geet Mator Gadhuli� by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

The students performed various programmes including dance, song, yoga, classical music and creative drama dance, etc. The programme ended with a drama titled Jadukari Ball.
