GUWAHATI, Nov 9 - Book enthusiasts of Assam, particularly youngsters, made a beeline to meet celebrated novelist and screenwriter Durjoy Datta, who attended the 21st North East Book Fair and took part in an interactive session today.

Datta, who rose to fame with his first romantic novel Of Course I Love You, has written 19 novels, making a place in the hearts of young Indian book lovers. His latest novel Wish I Could Tell You has also been well received by the readers.

The 32-year-old best-selling writer spent time with his fans and readers, who enthusiastically took selfies with him and sought his autographs. Later, taking part in an interactive session, the writer said that it was not easy to write romantic novels and it was, by no means, an easy genre of writing. Many contemporary writers, who considered it easy to write romantic novels, had to stop midway, he observed.

Meanwhile, the encouraging response to the book fair continued for the ninth day today. Books worth Rs 2 crore have been sold out till now, said the organisers. They hope that this years book fair would break previous records. Last year, the book fest recorded a total sale of approximately Rs 2.5 crore.
