World�s largest botanical herbal garden

TEZPUR, July 8 - �The world�s largest botanical herbal garden will come up in Sonitpur district very shortly,� the central executive member of Patanjali Group, Udayaditya Goswami announced here recently.

Goswami said that the world�s largest botanical herbal garden will be set up at Sijucha Na-mora area along the Assam-Arunachal border in Sonitpur district covering an area of nearly 21,000 hectares under the supervision of the Patanjali Group and in cooperation with the Arunachal Pradesh Government.

He further added that this garden will be reckoned as the world�s largest garden having varieties of medicinal plants in contrast to others botanical gardens. �We have identified around 7,000 medicinal plants which can be planted here,� Goswami said adding there are hardly 5,000 such medicinal plants available in other botanical gardens in the world.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Government of Arunachal Pradesh has decided to allot the land for the proposed botanical herbal garden in the month of September. Goswami expressing his gratitude towards both the Assam and Arunachal Pradesh Governments for extending their helping hand in this venture further said that Baba Ramdev, founder member of Patanjali Group, Acharya Balakrishnan and the Deputy Chief minister, Government of Arunachal Pradesh have been trying their level best to bring the project into a force as soon as possible.
