World Thinking Day observed

MANGALDAI, March 2 - The World Thinking Day was celebrated by the students and teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Mangadai recently on the occasion of the birthday of Lord and Lady Baden Powell with various programmes, such as speeches from selected students on the life and philosophy of the Baden Powell couple and their movement of the Scouts and Guides, garlanding of their portraits, lighting of lamp, an all-faith prayer, flag break, setting up of food stalls with food items prepared by the students themselves, painting campaign, cleanliness drive and planting of saplings etc.

Z Ansari , i/c Principal of the school as the chief guest lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the beginning of the day-long programme in the presence of Sehena Begam, teacher in charge of Scouts and Guides, Manashi Devi, Guide Captain, Guide Master Dr R Ranjan among other teachers. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest recalled the contribution of the Scouts and Guides in nation building and its founders Lord and Lady Powell and asked the students to follow the ideologies of the two great souls. The students were also addressed by H Sharan who elaborated on this year�s theme of the Thinking Day� �Connect India Digitally� and stressed the importance of digital literacy.

Earlier in the day, students Manashree Kakoti, Rajashree Kashyap and Jigyashay Kashyap spoke on the significance of observing the World Thinking Day in the morning assembly of the school. The day-long observation came to an end with the lowering of the flag.
