World Telecom Day on May 17

GUWAHATI, May 12 - The Institution of Engineers (India), Assam State Centre, will celebrate World Telecom and Information Society Day 2019 at its premises at Panbazar on May 17, stated a press release.

This year�s theme is �Bridging the standardisation gap�. The programme would comprise an inaugural session followed by a technical session. Sandeep Govil, chief general manager, Assam Telecom Circle (BSNL) will be the chief guest while Prabir Kumar Das, director of STPI, Guwahati, will be the keynote speaker in the inaugural session. Deepak Goswami, retired deputy director general of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) will chair the technical session.
