World Science Day celebration at RSC

GUWAHATI, Nov 9 � Regional Science Centre (RSC), Guwahati, is going to celebrate the World Science Day on November 10 and 11 with a two-day participatory programme involving a large number of schoolchildren, teachers and general public, a press release said.

The programme to be conducted at the Centre includes - November 10: 11 am: Art competition for children in three different groups: Group A: children studying in class I, II, III or IV; Group B: children studying in class V, VI or VII; Group C: Children studying in class VIII, IX or X on the topic Science is everywhere; 12.30 pm: Open house quiz contest; 5 pm - Observation of night sky through telescope for all (subject to clear sky).

November 11: 10.15 am - Art competition for children in three different groups (Group A: children studying in class I, II, III or IV; Group B: children studying in class V, VI or VII; Group C: Children studying in class VIII) on the topic Science is everywhere; 11.15 am - a show on �fun with science� (for physically challenged, deaf and dumb), 11.45 am - Popular science lecture; 12.15 - Touch, feel, smell and identification contest (for blind children), 5 pm - Observation of night sky through telescope for all (subject to clear sky).

Students are to bring pencil, stock of colour, clip board, eraser, etc. Blank drawing sheet will be provided by the centre. Interested schools are requested to confirm their participation over phone: 2361699, 2363218, the release added.
