GUWAHATI, June 1 � On the occasion of �World No Tobacco Day�, the District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC), Kamrup (Metro) organised a massive awareness campaign against tobacco menace in the city.
The theme for this year is the 'WHO framework convention on tobacco control.' Innovative methods like puppet theatre and street play by Ankur Welfare Society were organised to create awareness among the masses. The session was inaugurated by BL Deuri, Joint Director MMC Hospital, Panbazar.
The meeting was attended by officials from district administration and health department. The main thrust of the programme was to create awareness among the youth about the tobacco menace.
