Workshop on mother tongue

GUWAHATI, June 7 - The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) in collaboration with the Asam Sahitya Sabha today organised a workshop on the application of mother tongue i.e. Assamese, in office.

The workshop, held in the AHSEC office here, was attended by Kamal Gogoi, Secretary, AHSEC; Dasho Kalita from Asam Sahitya Sabha and Anil Barua, director, Assamese Language and Software Development Centre as resource persons.

�The resource persons urged the Council employees to emphasise the use of Assamese in their official works. To make it easier, they were advised to follow the guidebooks available. The Council employees carried out Assamese drafting of various official letters at the workshop. A committee was also formed to look after the application of Assamese language at the Council office, an AHSEC statement said.

AHSEC further said that it would organise a series of such workshops in future and steadfastly work for increasing use of the Assamese language in its official works.
