Workshop on Kushan dance, Solapith, acting

GAURIPUR, Nov 16 - Under the auspices of Sangeet Natak Academy and in collaboration with the Rajbongshi Literary Council, Drama Society, Chilarai College, Golokganj a 15-day workshop on Kushan dance was held on the premises of the college on November 7 last. A workshop on Solapith craft was also held while that on acting is scheduled to conclude on November 21.

The inaugural session was chaired by Hemlata Kakati, principal, Chilarai College. The workshop was inaugurated by Pratima Neogi, coordinator, Drama Society, Chilarai College. In her inaugural speech, she appealed to the trainees to learn the techniques of preparing various items of Solapith with dedication. The keynote address was delivered by Nilimay Prodhani, general secretary, Rajbongshi Literary Council who hoped that the trainees will be benefited in the future if they learn the techniques of acting in dramas etc.

Pranami Bharati, coordinator, Sangeet Natak Academy while delivering the welcome address requested the trainees to learn the art of acting in various dramas. Bhuban Chandra Ray and Karendra Malakar are the resource persons while Pranami Bharati will be the resource person in the drama section. Twenty trainees are attending the workshop which will end on November 21.
