GUWAHATI, March 10 - The Indian National Group of the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering in association with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, National Highways Authority of India and National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation organized a two-day workshop on the topic �Quality assurance in bridges and flyovers � design and construction� here on March 8 and 9.
The objective of this workshop was to develop more awareness among the engineers of the State PWDs and other executing agencies about the importance of quality control and quality assurance in design and construction of these structures, keeping in view their long design service life, a statement said. The knowledge and experiences gathered from the various presentations in this workshop are expected to be utilized by the client engineers in monitoring the quality aspects of these structures, it added.
