Workshop on Biya Naam concludes at Udalguri

UDALGURI,, Oct 8 - A workshop on Biya Naam organised by Udalguri Cultural Centre in association with Sanskritik Navajagaran Samaj, which got under way from September 20 last, concluded on October 4.

The closing ceremony was attended by intellectuals from Udalguri town as guests, where senior scribe of The Assam Tribune Rewati Raman Sapkota attended as appointed speaker and dwelt on the essence of such workshops on generating awareness among the new generation about the almost extinct ethnic cultural traditions of our society.

He also appreciated the initiative of the Udalguri Cultural Centre for organising this workshop where 30 aspiring ladies participated and expressed their satisfaction.

The participants hoped that the cultural centre would initiate similar workshops on traditional Diha Naam in the near future.

The closing ceremony was attended by Nareswar Deka, veteran social worker and President�s Award-winning teacher, Dinesh Das, retired teacher-cum-writer, among many other prominent people.

Yuganta Bayan, cultural officer of Udalguri Cultural Centre assured that he would definitely take up the matter of organising similar workshops with the appropriate authority in the near future. The programme was anchored by Bibek Das, a popular cultural activist of Udalguri district.
