Workshop held on schemes of National Trust

GUWAHATI, Dec 12 - A regional workshop to launch the new and revised schemes of National Trust (For Welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation & Multiple Disabilities), Union Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, was organised here recently by National Trust in collaboration with Shishu Sarothi, State Nodal Agency Centre (SNAC), Assam.

The workshop witnessed a review of all its schemes and programmes and made 10 new/revised schemes. Navnit Kumar, Programme Manager, National Trust, launched the schemes, namely Badhte Kadam (Awareness and Community Interaction), Disha (Early Intervention and School Readiness Scheme), Vikaas (Day Care), Samarth (Respite Care), Gharaunda (Group Home for Adults), Niramaya (Health Insurance Schemes), Sahyogi (Caregiver training Scheme), Gyan Prabha (Educational support), Prerna (Marketing Assistance) and Sambhav (Aids and Assisted Devices).

A presentation on these schemes was also made. A total of 27 people from the North Eastern states participated in the workshop.
