GUWAHATI, June 7 - A meeting of the District Development Committee of Kamrup Metro was held at the Deputy Commissioner�s office here today, with ADC Barnali Sarma in the chair.
The meeting reviewed progress of various decisions taken during the previous meet of the committee held last year.
Progress of work undertaken by various departments including social welfare, public health, handloom and textile, commerce and industry, agriculture, irrigation, dairy and PWD was discussed and reviewed.
It was decided that a separate meeting of BDOs would be held within a week to discuss ways for fast-tracking of rural development projects.
At today�s meeting, officials of the public health department were directed to take up projects under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and submit compliance reports. They were also asked to revive stalled projects.
The meeting also decided to ensure construction of community toilets at Deepor Beel and Dharapur by October 1.
All the department heads were also directed to plant 20 plant saplings each in their office complexes.
Today�s meeting was attended by senior officials and heads of different departments.
