IMPHAL, March 14 - A quick response team of Assam Rifles rescued a woman from New Wangparal village in Chandel district of Manipur, who had been kidnapped by NSCN (IM) cadres on Tuesday, according to a press release.
Two NSCN(IM) cadres involved in the kidnapping have been nabbed, says Assam Rifles in a release. The cadres were found in possession of one AK 47 rifle, one magazine and 27 live rounds of AK 47 rifle.
The two cadres have been handed over to Manipur police. An FIR has been filed against the two cadres. The victim revealed that few more cadres of NSCN(IM) were involved in the crime, the release added. Further investigation by police is under progress.
