GORESWAR, May 5 - One Durlov Kalita (28) was killed at village no. 3 Suagpur under Goreswar police station in Baksa district last night allegedly by his own wife Jonali Kalita (26) with a sharp weapon.
Jonali admitted to reporters and also told the Goreswar police that her husband came home regularly drunk and harassed her physically as well as mentally. Not being able to bear the torture anymore, she came back to her father�s home with her two children six months ago.
She said that last night, her husband came to his father-in-law�s home again totally drunk and wanted to attack her and her children. At this, she lost her cool and hit him with an iron rod. When he fell down, she attacked him with a dao. Then she surrendered herself along with her children at Suagpur Outpost under Goreswar police station in Baksa district.
