JORABAT, Aug 23 - A 60-year-old woman was killed in Panitiola village in Umtru under Ri-Bhoi district in Meghalaya for �allegedly practicing witchcraft�.
Police said Meeru Tudu, a tea garden worker, was brutally murdered by a man named Nayan Baski (28) and that he has confessed to the crime.
The accused Nayan Baski, also a tea garden worker, suspected that her wife�s ill health was caused by the �witchcraft practised� by Meeru Tudu.
�This has led to an altercation between the two and eventually Baski hit Tudu with a stick leading to her death,� Police said.
