Woman held for husband�s murder

DERGAON, Sept 4 - Sensation prevails following recovery of the body of one Nabin Baruah (55), a poor cultivator and a resident of Lakhipur village near Kaziranga National Park under Kohora Police outpost and Bokakhat PS in Golaghat district last night.

According to the police, the body with several cut injuries was recovered inside the room of his residence last night. Later police nabbed his wife Janmoni Baruah (28) for interrogation. After interrogation, police recovered the machete (da) used in the killing of the person from a nearby tea garden.

Talking to this correspondent, the SDPO of Bokakhat, Bitul Chetia, who is conducting the investigation, said that the wife was arrested in connection with the murder and sent to the jail custody. The SDPO also revealed that there is every possibility of involvement of another person in the killing as the injuries on the body signify.

Police is trying to catch the culprits as early as possible. Sources also revealed that the wife had eloped with a youth five years back and had abandoned her husband along with two minors. Interestingly, the wife had come back to Nabin just seven days back. Police investigation is on.
