NAGAON, March 30 - Sensation prevailed at the greater Kaki area in Hojai district today after a mother of three children was brutally chopped to death by her husband following a family dispute. The deceased has been identified as Santi Shahu of Rupali Pothar village at Kaki forest.
Sources said here that a dispute took place last night between the husband and wife and finally it sparked up following which the husband, Dharani Shahu chopped his wife to death with a sharp machete and disappeared from the spot.
The local police on being informed rushed to the spot and recovered her body and sent it for postmortem. Kaki Police have registered a case in this regard and launched a search operation for the accused.
