DHEMAJI, Oct 27 - One Susmita Doley Pegu (25), mother of two little children of no. 1 Rajakhana village under Jonai police station committed suicide by hanging on Monday evening.
Police said that the suicide was caused by extra marital affair of the woman.
The woman in spite of having her husband maintained an illicit relation with another person, which was finally caught by the husband last evening.
The woman after the incident fled away from home and later was found hanging in a nearby bamboo grove. The illicit partner of the woman, who is a panchayat president, is reportedly absconding.
Jonai police following a complaint lodged by the deceased�s husband registered a case under Section 306 IPC (abetment to commit suicide) and is now searching for accused panchayat president.
The deceased�s body has been sent to Dhemaji Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
