NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Aug 27 - The mother of a teenage boy here has accused a retired police officer of causing the disappearance of her son in Mumbai. She also alleged that her sons kidney was removed and transplanted on the cops wife without their knowledge.

Jonalee Das, wife of Jagat Das of Sanatangaon of North Lakhimpur has accused retired police officer Dileep Dutta of causing the disappeareance of her son Bhupen Das from the residence of his (Duttas) son in Mumbai. She has filed a case at North Lakhimpur Sadar Police Station against Dutta in this connection.

Elaborating her story, Jonalee said that Dileep Dutta took 14-year-old Bhupen from her while he was posted as officer-in-charge of NL Sadar PS some years back, assuring her that a better life and education awaited him. Later, the boy was taken to Duttas Guwahati residence and engaged as a domestic help. Jonalee Das further alleged that Dutta also took Bhupens caste certificate and permanent residential certificate from her to enable him to appear in the HSLC examination.

According to her, Bhupen was taken by Dutta to his sons residence in Mumbai in July this year despite her opposition. On August 6, Jonalee was informed by Dileep Dutta about the disappearance of her son Bhupen in Mumbai.

Jonali said that she suspected that her sons kidney has been transplanted on Duttas wife, after she became aware of frequent health checkups of her son in Mumbai. The desperate mother also informed about the disappearance of her son to the Child Line in North Lakhimpur.

However, the Child Line has told Jonalee that Dutta has informed Mumbai Police about the disappearance of Bhupen Das, claiming that the latter was his adopted son.
