With 2 new cases, tally stands at 199 in Golaghat dist

DERGAON, June 4 - With two new cases, the total number of positive cases has increased to 199 in Golaghat district on Thursday.

All the new cases are from quarantine centres and are persons who had returned from outside Assam through Special Shramik Train.

Among the infected, 39 patients have been released so far and, therefore, a total of 160 cases are active in the district as of today.

DIPRO in-charge Papu Gogoi said that 109 Covid patients were undergoing treatment at Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital (SKKCH) Golaghat and 51 such patients were under treatment at Jorhat Medical College Hospital (JMCH).

He also said that till date a total of 20 patients were discharged from SKKCH COVID Hospital Golaghat and 10 patients were discharged from JMCH from June 1-4.

Similarly, a total of 395 returnees from outside the State are in 38 institutional quarantine (IQ) centres in the district. A total of 33 inmates were added while 102 another were released on Thursday. A highest number of 59 inmates are in CNB College IQ centre as on Thursday.

In Dergaon, three institutional quarantine centres have been set up at Marwary Dharamshala, Nahardonga Model Hospital and Koilasah Bibah Bhavan so far.

In Dharamshala centre, a total of 28 inmates have been accommodated as on date.
