Winter session of Assembly from Nov 28

GUWAHATI, Nov 15 - The Winter Session of the Assam Legislative Assembly (ALA) will begin on November 28.

As per the calendar issued today, the first day of the session will have Government Business beginning with Oath of Affirmation by the newly elected Members.

This would be followed by the Question Hour. Afterwards, the Speaker will announce the report of the Business Advisory Committee of ALA settling the Business for the Winter Session.

The Speaker will also announce the names of the members constituting the Panel of Chairmen under Rule 9(1) of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in ALA.

Presentation of reports of various Assembly Committees, motion for election of members to various Government committees and boards, presentation of the list of Supplementary Demand for Grants and Supplementary Appropriation for the year 2019-2020, introduction of Government Bills, and Obituary References are also on the schedule for November 28.

On November 29, there will be Question Hour and Private Members� Business with Bills, Resolutions, Special Motion and Motions.

On November 30, there will be Government Business, starting with Question Hour, followed by voting and passing of Supplementary Demand and Supplementary Appropriation for 2019-2020, besides introduction, consideration and passing of Assam Appropriation Bill, 2019.

The next sitting will be held on December 3 when there will be Question Hour, Members� Hour and Private Members� Business with Bills, Resolutions, Special Motion and Motions.

On December 4, the Assembly will have Government Business with Question Hour, followed by consideration and passing of Government Bills and any other Government Business remaining unfinished.

On December 5 there will be Government Business with Speaker�s Initiative.

The last day of the Winter Session will be held on December 6, which will have Government Business with discussion on commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, followed by adjournment sine-die.
