Will move against 26/11 terrorists with full force: Pak

By The Assam Tribune

ISLAMABAD, June 26 (IANS) - Pakistan Saturday assured India that it will move with "full force" against terrorists behind the 26/11 Mumbai carnage and asked New Delhi to join hands to defeat forces of terrorism that want to derail the dialogue between the two countries.

"We want to move ahead with full force against terrorism and terrorist organizations," Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi told Times Now TV news channel in an interview when asked whether he could assure India of concrete action against the Mumbai terror accused.

"Terror is hurting Pakistan. We ourselves are victims of terrorism," he added.

"We should join hands to defeat the common enemy," said Qureshi, while stressing that when India suspended dialogue with Pakistan following the Mumbai attacks 18 months ago the net beneficiaries were terrorists and extremists.

"It is in our mutual interest to have tangible progress and we will make tangible progress," said Qureshi, while setting a positive tone for his meeting with India's External Affairs Minister SM Krishna in Islamabad July 15.

"I have full confidence that these meetings will develop into positive outcomes," Qureshi said while alluding to talks between Home Minister P Chidambaram and his Pakistani counterpart Rehman Malik Friday that focused on the Mumbai terror.

"We have to make a beginning and we have made a right beginning. We have to develop a comfort level," he said.
