Wife of Mintu Deuri given govt job

RAHA, July 19 - In line with the assurance that eligible family member of Mintu Deuri, who was killed in the police firing while protesting shifting of the proposed AIIMS from Raha to Changsari, at Raha Chariali on Friday, be given a government job, Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, Commissioner & Secretary, Govt of Assam, Pension & Public Grievances Dept, Commissioner, Lower and Central Assam division, handed over an appointment order to the wife of the victim here on Monday.

Rijumoni Patar, wife of the victim Mintu Deuri, was appointed as a peon in the office of the Circle Officer of Raha. Pallavi Kachary, Raha Circle Officer also promised all help to the victim�s wife.

Similarly, Jitumoni Konwar, who was injured in the police firing, was given a cheque worth Rs 50,000 by Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, in presence of Nagaon DC Adil Khan, SP Yshey Tshewang Gyatso, Raha Circle Officer Pallavi Kachary, ADC Amitabh Rajkhuwa, Brajen Das, Raha MLA Dimbeswar Das and Hiranya Narayan Bora, president, AIIMS Demand Committee, Raha. Pankaj Konwar, brother of Jitumoni Konwar, received the cheque on Jitumoni�s behalf.
