Wheelchairs for 32 polling booths in Lakhimpur

By Correspondent

NORTH LAKHIMPUR, March 22 - The Lakhimpur district election authority has set up provisions for wheelchairs for differently-abled voters in 32 polling booths for the ensuing Assembly elections.

This move has been initiated to provide easy access to voting for persons with disabilities. Ramps for such voters have also been set up at various polling booths for easy entry.

Election personnel were trained to provide assistances to disabled voters for this purpose. Volunteers are also encouraged to participate in this initiative to provide prioritized entry of differently-abled persons to exercise their franchise.

Meanwhile, one Independent candidate from 109-Bihpuria LAC withdrew his nomination from the election fray on Monday.
