Welfare schemes to continue: Gogoi

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, June 13 Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has said the State government is committed to continuing with the existing welfare projects and implementing all the pro-poor and pro-common man schemes in spite of the NDA governments new policy in allocating funds to the State.

In a statement Gogoi said, Whatever situation may arise for the Centres reluctance in giving funds, the State government will continue implementation of all the existing welfare schemes. The State Government will also implement the Budget declarations and new pro-poor and pro-common man schemes will be taken for the benefit of the people.

The Chief Minister also said that the State government employees would continue to get their salaries regularly.

Gogoi has asked the Chief Secretary to prepare an action plan to continue with the implementation of all existing welfare projects and new schemes even if there is any constraint because of the Centres new policy in allocating funds.
