JORHAT, July 4 � A website containing information about Sanjoy Ghose, the team leader of Association of Voluntary Agencies in Rural Development NE, who was killed by the activists of ULFA 15 years ago while working in Majuli, was launched today on the 15th Smriti Divas of the slain social activist at Kamalabari, Majuli.
At a meeting organised by the Sanjoy Ghose Memorial Trust, Majuli, Kanak Baruah, former teacher of Majuli College, formally launched the webside today. The meeting was presided over by Guru Prasad Bora, president, Sanjoy Ghose Memorial Trust.
The website will include the history and information related to the activities of late Ghose.
Significantly, Ghose was abducted on July 4, 1997. Since that time no investigating agency succeeded in tracing him till date.
The Sanjoy Ghose Memorial Trust is going to establish a bronze statue of Sanjoy Ghose at Kamalabari. It will also screen a documentary on the activities and achievements of late Ghose to the students of 800 educational institutes of the river island Majuli.
