GUWAHATI, May 28 - A webinar on e-learning and e-resources was organised by IQAC and Hem Barua Library of B Borooah College here in association with the Assam College Librarians� Association (ACLA) on Thursday, said a press release.
The webinar, held at B Borooah College, was kick-started by the college�s Principal Dr Satyendra Nath Barman. Dr Prasanta Kumar Deka, general secretary of ACLA spoke about the necessity of e-learning and e-resources.
Prof Sanjay Singh, head of the Department of Library and Information Science, Gauhati University, enlightened the participants on the concept and range of e-learning modules. He spoke about the available e-resources that one can avail. He also touched upon the pros and cons of the e-learning process. The different online resources for online class platforms, directory of open access journals/books and also for accessing journals were highlighted by Prof Singh.
Dr Birender Pal, coordinator of ACLA�s IT cell, spoke about Swayam, Swayam Prabha, ShodhSindhu, Shodhganga, National Digital Library, Diksha app and other government initiatives on digital learning. He also threw light on open access e-resources.
The webinar had a good interactive session with many queries from the participants. It was attended by 202 participants belonging to different educational institutions of India and abroad viz. Phillipines, USA, etc.
The webinar was coordinated by Dr Diganta Choudhury, IQAC coordinator of B Borooah College and Dr Niraj Barua, librarian of the same college, the release added.
