GUWAHATI, Aug 22 - As part of its e-governance initiative, the Kamrup Metro district administration has introduced a web-based Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loan monitoring and management system.
�It was experienced that there has been no e-inclusion of farmers applying for KCC loan and other benefits. There existed a gap between the Agriculture Department and the banking sector and the farmers in the whole process.
To bridge the gap and provide monitoring tools for departmental officers at the district level, an IT-driven web-based system has been incorporated in the portal www.kamrupmetroonline.in, through which the Agriculture department can now sponsor KCC loan online. The same portal also provides a platform for the banks to process the loan proposals. The farmers will also now have a platform to view the status of their application,� said an official statement.
