In a close semifinal match at the Nehru Stadium here this evening, Wayhingdoh edged past their Shillong league mate Ar-hima Football Club 1-0. The all important goal was netted by Perry S Kollie in the 27th minute.

Ar-hima custodian Markus Basumatary fumbled in collecting the ball off a free kick and opportunist Wayhingdoh striker pushed the ball home as it was rebounded off Markus.

Wayhingdoh players were in better shape in the first sessionand shared the ball for most of the time. Their skipper I Seityasen Singh was instrumental in creating several scoring opportunities but their final hits were punchless.

But in the later part of the match, the Ar-hima boys tried to get their act together and put ample pressure on the opponent. Nagen Tamang and Stephan Field Lanong looked dangerous at the upfront. But all their efforts were foiled by the ever alert Wayhingdoh defenders.
