GUWAHATI, June 3 � The Panbazar area of Guwahati today faced acute water-logging due to rainfall in the morning.
The GNB Road near Panbazar over bridge, in front of the Assam Textbook Co-operation remained submerged under waist deep water till 1 pm today, said ex-MLA Ajai Dutta. The Saraswati Road to the south of Panbazar Girls� School also remained under knee deep water till 3.15 pm. Motilal Nehru Road and Sir Shadulla Road, Lakhtokia also faced water-logging till the afternoon.
�The reason behind water logging in this area is the 100 years� old culvert that has not been cleaned. The railway culvert near the Railway gate no 2 is also totally clogged,� Dutta mentioned.
