SHILLONG, March 12 � Meghalaya Home Minister Roshan Warjri yesterday said the government will �bring to justice� the militants involved in ambushing a police party killing four and injuring two in yesterday�s attack in South Garo Hills district.

�All out efforts are being made to bring the culprits of such inhuman and barbaric act to justice,� Warjri told the Assembly making a suo-moto statement on the issue.

The State Government also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 7.5 lakh to each of the next to kin of the deceased, Rs one lakh to the seriously injured and Rs 50,OOO to the other injured personnel, the Home Minister said.

A special family-pension equivalent to the last salary drawn would be granted to the families of the deceased was also announced.

Suspected GNLA militants ambushed a police team at the Panda Reserve Forest near Ampanggre village at around 10.30 am yesterday killing SI Sombatsing K Sangma and three others and injuring two constables, Warjri added. � PTI
