GUWAHATI, Jan 12 - The Nagarik Surakshya Samity, Assam has welcomed the decision to construct a war memorial on the northern bank of the historic Dighalipukhuri.
In a statement, president of the Samity Kailash Sarma said that the war memorial, in the honour of our national heroes, within the city, would inspire the younger generations and foster the feeling of patriotism. �It will always remind us of the great sacrifices made by our martyrs, who laid down their lives to protect the country. We request all the citizens to extend their support to this noble cause,� he added.
