Walking competition for seniors

GUWAHATI, March 6 � The senior citizens of the Panjabari area here are organising a walking competition for the elderly people of the city on March 8.

The 2-km competition will be flagged off by veteran journalist Premadhar Sharma at the Karmashree Hiteswar Saikia College premises, Sixmile here at 7.30 am. The competition will be culminated at the College of Veterinary Science ground, Khanapara.

About 200 elderly people, including ladies are likely to take part in the competition which will be held in three groups 60-70 years, 70-80 years and above.

Intending participants may report to Ranjit Sutradhar, Madhab Borthakur or Ranjan Das at the starting point at 7 am, stated a release.
