Vulgar remark against Jorhat e-media journos condemned

JORHAT, Aug 14 - The Jorhat Press Club in a statement issued by its general secretary Ananta Narayan Borthakur on Sunday condemned the action of a person reportedly posting a highly objectionable post against local journalists of the electronic media on a social media platform by using vulgar language.

The statement, while terming the act as an attempt to suppress and stifle the voice of the media, urged the police authorities to take strict action as per the provisions of law against the culprit who has allegedly uploaded the post that has derogatory remarks about the family members of electronic media journalists.

Meanwhile, an FIR seeking stern legal action against the culprit has been lodged at the Jorhat Police Station.
